Her li'l girl in her arms, tears
in this young mother's eyes,
as she bids adieu to her man, on
a sojourn of a thousand miles.
She holds her baby even tighter,
as if it's the only thing she's got,
She'd be on her way too, with
her man, but for this li'l tiny tot!
A child is a blessing and no less a
work of art, but at this moment,
she was not sure of her burden,
was it one or a thing to lament.
Years go by, the pains of this event
pass, but for flashes of reminiscence.
Fades in the joy of watching the li'l
one grow from child to pubescence.
Another bout of sorrow and pain in
store for her as its the li'l one's turn
to bid adieu, to go to distant shores,
leaving her with agony and heartburn.
Ups and downs now the life for this
lonely mother, with each passing day,
comes news of joy and of struggle,
of her little girl, from so far away.
As the girl moves up in life, a tiny step
each day, hope lights a mother's heart.
The day of salvation arrives when her
girl finds her feet and makes a start.
First feat for this dutiful daughter,
Give wings to her mother to fly,
to a place once out of reach, a
distant dream and a pie in the sky.
A mother's sacrifice acknowledged,
her long lost opportunity made up,
What's more fulfilling, than to watch
a parent, as her tears of joy well up!

Inner engineering - had heard so much about this program that I finally succumbed to my curiosity. Am also in a transition phase in my career and thought I had done so much of outer Engineering - Education, Networking, continuous learning of techniques and tools so felt it is time for some Inner Engineering. A three and a half day investment seemed quite appropriate as well at the Isha Centre in a scenic setting near Coimbatore. Here are some key learnings and insights for the ones interested….. First, it is a completely new journey into a realm that is beyond our normal logical, questioning mind. It calls for a leap of faith into a new dimension not easily explained by the axioms we are so familiar with in day to day life. However, it is done in a very "secular", non denominational, non-religious manner without pushing you too much. So well packaged and marketed in my view!! Second, it is an intense program both mentally and physically. You are in the program 24 hrs...
